the blind spot #2 (2017)

photographs

◊ In The Blind Spot #2 spots are digitally cut out of photographs of a landscape, an urban situation or an object and then reinserted into the original photograph, following the structure of a German word in Braille. ◊

◊ The (structure of) the world itself and the image of it change through the process of perception. The interventions in the photographs portray this movement and incorporates it into what was and is seen. The conflicting level of perception is been described by an amalgam of seeing and non-seeing in Braille. The so modified space offers an expanded view of the structural change of things at the moment of their perception. ◊
